Steven Spittaels
Researcher - Director ad interim


(°1980) holds a degree in international political science and in Conflict and Sustainable Peace (KULeuven). After his studies he started working at the WHO Collaborating Centre on Health and Psycho-social factors. As a collaborator of the organisation Kauri, he focused on all matters related to Corporate Social Responsibility. But his main research expertise lies with the drivers of peace spoilers and warring parties in general. He has been in the Balkans and Central Africa several times, working as a researcher, project officer and project evaluator. For IPIS he coordinates the project: Mapping Conflict Motives in War Areas.
